Hot off the press

Transfer rumours linking ex Arsenal striker, also wanted by Newcastle to Manchester

With just over a week to go before the close of the transfer market, there are more
transfer rumours flying round than gold medals won by China at the Olympic Games.
According to sky sports news the latest is big news coming from France suggesting
that Manchester City are ready to move for
Thierry Henry.

With Thaksin considering leaving the board at City and given how Ronaldinho snubbed
them at the last minute, are Manchester City just wasting their time yet again?

If there is any truth to this transfer speculation then probably yes is the answer.
Are these class of players in City’s budget and would they even consider moving to
Manchester City?

What kind of reception will Newcastle fans give Joey Barton if he returns to first
team action?
Joey Barton is an unfortunate footballer, who never seems to learn from his
mistakes. There is no doubting his talent on the pitch but his behaviour off it and
inability to get on with team mates, makes him a very dangerous player to have in
the team.

“The 25-year-old left prison in July after spending more than two months in jail for
assault and affray. He immediately returned to training with the club, but within
days of being out the FA charged him with violent conduct against his former
Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo - an offence for which he has already been
handed a four-month suspended sentence by the courts.
The FA, though, decided to take their action against Barton - who is likely to face
a lengthy ban.

Barton has requested a personal hearing, which will take place on 5th September and
Keegan says his midfielder is unlikely to play until after this.

"I am fully aware he has got his thing on September 5, and it is highly unlikely
Joey will be involved with us beforehand.
"If he was fit enough and looked strong enough and put himself up for selection that
way, I would play him before then.” (sky sports)

Keegan is showing his faith in Barton, but what do the Newcastle fans think about
the lad getting another chance to redeem himself? Is it whatever King Kev says we
are happy with or do Newcastle supporters disagree with Keegan?
