Hot off the press

What do Chelsea and Manchester City fans have to say on SWP's return to City?

Manchester City fans must be delighted at the return of their prodigal son SWP. There is no doubting that SWP, being an englishman was a firm favourite with the Chelsea fans and will be missed at the Bridge. But with a swift replacement in Robinho on the cards fans can't feel to down can they?

SWP had a difficult time at Chelsea and was rarely able to find his best form. He fell down the pecking order towards the end of last season and Luiz Felipe Scolari has now agreed to let him go.

Manager Mark Hughes also expressed his delight at clinching the deal and backed Wright-Phillips to flourish again at City.

"I've always admired him and he's certainly been a target of mine since I came to the football club," said the manager.

"To actually secure the deal and bring Shaun back home is a fantastic coup for us and I'm sure the supporters will be just as excited as we are to have him back at Manchester City." (sky sports news)

But what do the supporters think?

It was a confidence thing playing for Chelsea and he was in and out of the team as a result. Arguably his best game for the blues was away at West Ham. He's a great lad and I hope he finds his best form again at City.

I think SWP had his heart set on Rovers but maybe Incey didn't fancy him. Looks like Chelsea wanted rid so SWP had no alternative than to risk his livelihood with City. Unfortunately for Hughes et al, the longer they stay with the club the more their reputation could suffer. Good luck anyway.

Good move for him, was great at city but wasnt given enough chances at chelsea, could get back into the england side if he plays regularly
