Hot off the press

Redknapp makes Manchester United Keeper the Number 1 Target for Spurs

Having left Portsmouth in the lurch, Harry Redknapp is already casting his eyes across other squads for players to improve his inherited Spurs squad.

Harry Redknapp wants Manchester United’s Ben Foster - after deciding to dump blunder keeper Heurelho Gomes after just one game.

Tottenham boss Redknapp is a big admirer of England keeper Foster who is third choice at Old Trafford and rated as one of the best home-grown prospects in the country.
Redknapp is desperate to shore up his defence with a solid keeper and does not fancy £7m keeper Gomes after his recent poor displays, including Sunday’s win over Bolton which left the new Spurs manager with major doubts.

Redknapp will have to persevere with Gomes - only signed in the summer from PSV Eindhoven - until the January transfer window but has already turned against him and reserve Cesar Sanchez also lacks experience. (The Sun)

Is Ben Foster of Manchester United the answer to Redknapp’s goalkeeping problems? Should Gomez be given more time? After all this is his first season in England and he has only played a handful of games with a very, very poor team sat infront of him.

Redknapp bought a lot of players into Portsmouth that has left the club with a massive debt to finance – will he do the same to Spurs?

Sorry Harry, you wont get near Amos talkless of Foster so shift your target elsewhere. It is our turn to produce England Keeper.

No way Fergie will let u have Foster, cause Van der Sar is retiring at the end of the season the last thing he would so is sell him. He's meant to be England Number 1 one day. Fergie does have a brain u kno, and I take it that Redknapp has one as well.

Gomes has great qualities and Redknapp will work on him as he did with David James to tidy his work..
what is written here is pure media rubbish

It get tired of the way our lack of effective organisation in defence is blamed on our keepers. Gomez was great for PSV and has entered a team where the defence changes every week. How is he supposed to cope with that? This is down to management to sort out, and blaming it all on one man won't work.
