Hot off the press

Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona. Who has Africa's top striker?

Eto was widely regarded as the finest striker to ever come out of Africa. With a sensational scoring record at Barcelona he remains a highly sought after player. However, Drogba's form at Chelsea changed all of this, and many pundits quickly changed there views on the matter. Combining strength, speed and a prolific goal scoring record at Chelsea, it came to no surprise when he picked up African footballer of the year last season. Yet the current season has not been kind to Drogba, who ravenged by injuries, is yet to find his old form. This has allowed another top name to enter the fray.

Arsenal's Adebayor has been in fine form this season, and despite Arsenal's position in the league, he has profided constant threat to defenders. Although he still needs to work on his positioning, as the striker is caught offside far too often, Adebayor's advantage lies in his age. Although it is too early to compare him to Drogba, it seems that within the next two or three seasons, the Togo striker may well be regarded as Africa's top striker!

Who do fans see as Africa's top striker? Do players like Yakubu and Martins deserve a mention?
