Hot off the press

A slap in the face for Wigan.

How many times are players and teams going to be subjected to poor refereeing decisions and yet not being able to do sweet Fanny Adams about it? Referee Andre Marriner admits he got it wrong issuing the second yellow card and therefore subsequent dismissal to Emmerson Boyce for his tackle on Newcastle’s Shola Ameobi.

Steve Bruce is demanding FIFA change their 'ridiculous' rules after discovering Emmerson Boyce's red card cannot be rescinded.

FA Secretary Stuart Hayton said: 'I have spoken to the FA disciplinary department and, even though they agree that the decision was incorrect, FIFA rules do not permit them to act independently.'

Now Boyce will miss Wigan’s next game against Everton and for for no good reason.

Wigan fans have you got any comments you would like to direct at FIFA, the governing body for allowing such nonsense to exist?

It is an absolute discgrace. You see teams all over the premier league get decisions like this against them. For Wigan this is the second time- Liverpool where valencia got his first yellow for coming out of the wall. I Guarantee if this was the second bookable offence he wouldn't have been sent off. That cost us at least a point.
Boycey getting sent off cost us two points and he is missing, from an already injury weakened side.
Man utd pen against Bolton,
Anelka offside goals for Chelsea.
How many times are we going to let these decisions fail the LOWER teams (i stress this, because when was the last time a crazy decision went against one of the aforementioned clubs)Before we let technology into the game. Surely its fair??
I am not just saying this as a latics fan, I have said it for a while. It works in cricket, rugby so why is the most watched game in the world subjected to ancient policies. We need to get with the times. I know who the problem is, Mr Blatter! Get him Out!
