Hot off the press

Redknapp to Raid Portsmouth for Ex- Arsenal and Chelsea Star?

If rumours are to be believed, Harry Redknapp will look to take advantage of economic problems at Portsmouth that he himself created whilst he was there.

Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie has categorically refuted reports that there is an £10m exit clause in Lassana Diarra contract and stressed that any club coming in for the talented midfielder will have to offer ‘awful lot of money.’

The France international has been surrounded by speculation regarding his long-term future ever since he began his Pompey stint in an impressive manner after joining from Arsenal in search of first-team action in January.

The former Chelsea player is linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who in the summer were keen on signing Diarra but then Pompey boss Harry Redknapp had reportedly turned down a big-money move, and as such rumours have been rife.
Recently Pompey had dismissed reports that Spurs manager Redknapp had been given the first-refusal on players like Diarra and Jermain Defoe. And now Storrie has said there is no clause in Diarra’s contract.

“There is no clause in his contract whatsoever – it is absolute rubbish,” said Storrie in The News
.
“Let’s get this straight, we are not looking to sell Diarra. Also, if someone came in and wanted him they would have to pay an awful lot of money, credit crunch or no credit crunch. (Premiershiplatest.com)

Are Portsmouth really having to sell players to cover Harry’s extravagant spending? Or does the chairman want to cash in?

By saying they are not looking to sell him, but then saying if you wanted to sign him it would cost an awful lot of money, Peter Storrie is making the position clear: you can get him but not on the cheap. Do Spurs have the money to offer Portsmouth to make the move a reality?

Oh dear , here we go againfor about the 1,000 time

There is NO get out clause in Diarra'a contract.

Pompey turned down a bid of £15m in August , the get out clause didn't work then and guess what , it won't work in January .

Really lazy journalism if you ask me

From day 1 Lassana said that his stay at Pompey was just a stepping stone to a bigger club having been a bench warmer at Chelsea and Arsenal. pompey fans have no doubt he will go in January or at the end of the season but it won't be to Spurs or City, more like to be Utd,Spain or Italy. He wants & deserves Champions League football not Championship football.
