Hot off the press

 Are Arsenal’s Wonderkids mature enough?

Since the beginning of the season stories have been flying around the press of tensions and disagreements between players. It took some time for Adebayor and Bendtner to set aside their differences and play together. Van Persie has always had issues and seems to be a bit of a loner Now Arsenal’s captain William Gallas has broken the silence and allowed all the dressing-room dirty washing to be hung out.

Clearly there have been things brewing for a long time. Cesc Fabregas, Nastri and Kolo Toure are the seniors in the squad but they do not have that aura about them that pulls the players together. With Arsenal having a lager proportion of players under 20 it appears that there is not a strong social togetherness amongst the players. In the Tony Adam’s days the team fought for each other on the pitch and socialised together after. Arsene Wenger quipped that Ramsey was too young to collect his Man of the Match Champagne and anyway it was past his bedtime. If teams are to become title winners there has to be that strong bond between the players both on and off the pitch.

Do you think this bitching that Gallas is referring to is because the team is just too immature to handle being Premiership winners or is it because the older players feel threatened by their young talented reserves?
