Hot off the press

 Arsenal's Gallas. Does he have a fair point?

Aside from the obvious moronic points aside, and the fact that as the Captain he shouldn't be bringing the team down amongst a national audience, as it only goes to show other teams that we are not capable of battling against them, are vulnerable, have no team ethic, and therefore cant win, but does he have a point to some extent?

Whilst no captain has ever before come out and brought his entire team down with him, it is still a point that Arsenal don't win anything, and a lot of this has to do with the sheer arrogance of some of its performers. The most humble of our players are our best anyway; Fabregas, Walcott, Sagna and Clichy are clearly the more tranquil and less arrogant of our players followed up by Nasri, Almunia and Toure. To me it appears that the worst performers of our campaign are the ones with the huge egos – Denilson, Gallas, Eboue, Van Persie, Bendtner and Adebayor. Somewhere along the line things have gone terribly wrong, and perhaps it isn't such an awful thing that Gallas has brought it to our attention, although you would hope he would do so with better consideration of the timing… with an away game to Manchester City and a big match against Chelsea coming up, Arsenal have a really tough time ahead and don't need any help in derailing their campaign. Gallas said of our title hopes;

"We will have to see. We don't know what will happen between here and then.

"Four defeats is a lot but it's a long season.

"For me the title is not over, it's true that we are nine points behind Chelsea but you have to be optimistic and you can't give up. I have to win something this year.

"I have to win something, Arsenal has to win something. It's four or five years since Arsenal won anything. That's not good.

"I think it will be very tight this year and we will have to hope that Chelsea draw a few games and have a few defeats."

What do fans think about these comments? Fair enough? Or is it merely what we expect him to be thinking, and therefore expect him to shut up and keep his opinions out of the paper?

Lay off denilson. He has done a grweat job playing in position that has not been his first choice, he has made imself clear in the past the he sees himself as a cesc but has dug in and done waht he has been asked even if it was to be a substitute. There is something about him that coaches must see in him otherwise he wouldnt captain the brazillian team at all those different levels. He risked losing his captaincy by staying at Arsenal on the bench when he could have asked to move elsewhere and get regular football. Come on, give the brazillian his dues!

Gallas could be a good captain but you cannot expect him to nursemaid the kids
