Hot off the press

 Manchester United's Rooney promises rot will stop for Derby clash against Manchester City

Manchester United have, despite a plethora of goal scoring talents, been rather stale of late and failed to find the net in the last two matches and previously lost to unbalanced Arsenal. It appears that having Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov and Tevez isn't actually enough after all to seal victories or even goals of late, but they are certainly trying; as proven by Wayne Rooney's embarrassing dive in last night's game against Villareal. However the team say they are not worried about their lack of goal scoring and believe it will all be unplugged this weekend;

"It's not worrying.

"I hope we're saving the goals for Manchester City.

"The derby at the weekend is a big game for us and we're all looking forward to it.

"I'm not quite sure the draw with Villarreal was one for the spectators, but we were probably the better team and we created lots of chances.

"We just couldn't take them. The main thing is we're through to the knockout round.

"We've got one game left against Aalborg and if we win that we will finish top of the group.

"This result could be good for us in the end.

"I don't know why we keeping drawing 0-0. In most of the games we've been the better team.

However, as Arsenal fans can attest to, being the better team is unlikely to win you games, and hard grafting needs to be done on other parts of the pitch. With United and Arsenal slipping off the pace of late, it might be a surprising season with Liverpool and Chelsea taking the top two battle on for the first time in many years. What do fans think about United's poor record of late, and where do you think they will realistically finish given their average start to the campaign?

it would be nice to think that his got all of his diving out of his system for the derby!! doubt it tho it's something he has always done and it was a disgrace yesterday should have been booked!!
