Hot off the press

 New Arsenal Captain seeks advice from Barcelona and Inter stars.

Though having been heavily involved in the first team set up for 5 years now, and being one of the most experienced members of a team at only 21, Cesc Fabregas is still a young man and makes no pretence of understanding the complexities involved in running the team and demanding complete and utter respect from those around him. And so he has decided to take some advice from his former team mates and Arsenal captains Thierry Henry and Patrick Viera. Cesc said;

"I still speak on the phone to Thierry and I will ask him about it.

"I'd love to talk with Patrick about the job as well because he has so much experience.

"It's a big job on and off the pitch and everything is new to me at the moment. But I'm sure I'll find out very quickly.

"It's true that we are 10 points behind, so our immediate target is to win at Chelsea.

"Sunday is a good opportunity to get some points back and a couple of weeks after we have Liverpool at home.

"So we have to focus on winning and putting the pressure back on those ahead of us. If we can do that, things can change quickly.

"We have only played 14 Premier League games and it is not over yet."

He said: "All the teams in the league know they have to defend a lot when they play Arsenal.

"Sometimes it looks as though they have spent all week in training just on defending. But if we want to win something, we have to overcome everything."

Its good to see the new captain taking a step back and admitting his apprehension with regards to the new responsibility, and is seeking advice from club legends rather than diving in at the deep end. What do fans think of this approach? I would suggest it's a sign of some great maturity, which hopefully he will project onto the pitch.
