Hot off the press

 The Fire Burns at Sunderland.

Five defeats in six games and Sunderland fall into the bottom three. The season started with such promise but the Cats are now up against it. Roy Keane was one of the young breed of managers who were making name for themselves and now is it going all pear shaped?

Does Chairman Niall Quinn need to finalise the contract discussions with manager Roy Keane so that the Cats can get on the job of beating the drop. Or is the millionaire boss ready to walk away from all the problems at Sunderland.

The fans are beginning to be split over their loyalty for the manager. After the humiliating 1-4 defeat to Bolton boos rang out from the few fans that stayed for the final whistle at the Stadium of Light. This was in sharp contrast with the cries of “No, Roy, please don’t go” that would have been on the lips of most fans before the game.

Sunderland fans: Time to get off the fence. Do you think Sunderland should put their future in the hands of Roy Keane or is it time to say “Goodbye”?

Roy Keane has all the qualities of a very good manager. He is like and respected by the players. He will get us through this season.
