Hot off the press

Chelsea lose, but is it fair that Arsenal won?

With Scolari looking for an apology from the match day officials, Chelsea fans can rightly feel undone by Sundays result. Van Persie’s opening goal was clearly offside, and this merely compounded Chelsea’s frustrating afternoon, after Kalou was wrongly judged to have been off-side in the opening half.

Arsene Wenger used the result to highlight the strength of his squad, and this is understandable given the flak they have received over recent weeks by both the media and also their captain! With neither side really deserving the win, attention is now switching to Chelsea’s form. After losing to Roma, their form has failed to improve, and draws to Newcastle and Bordeaux will now be given more meaning after yesterday’s defeat.

Where are Chelsea going wrong? What do fans think about yesterday’s result?

Usual hypocracy regarding Arsenal. When Arsenal have off-side goals scored against them, no one thinks anything of it. When Arsenal score an off-side goal, the media and other Premiership players and managers begin baying for the dismantling of the rules. Why not just take three points off Arsenal and give them to Chelsea? When Arsenal play at their best under Wenger (not yet this season), they play the best club football in Europe, even the world. Even our reserves kids take the piss. Other clubs don't like it, they respond by fouling, cheating, whining, complaining, and using any method they can to bring Arsenal down. Its called envy. Arsenal fans are used to the treatment the team gets. We'll just keep on taking the piss.
Get over it Chavs, you were beaten by a better footballing side, a team with real history and with a trophy cabinet filled with silverware they have earned not bought.

Just more evidence of the anti-Arsenal brigade in full swing.

When Wenger points out we lost points to bad decisions, (last season - Middlesborough home, Birmingham away, Man U home and away, Chelsea away, etc etc), it's Wenger's a bad loser and all part of the game.

As for offside goals against Chelsea ??? Drogba was offside to score in the 2:1 last year and the 1:0 two seasons before that AND when he scored the equaliser in the Carling Cup Final !!!! And what about the 0:2 at Highbury when Van Persie's onside goal was disallowed yet Joe Cole's offside one stood ????

Short memories over at the Bridge ... longer ones at the Emirates ...
