Hot off the press

Italian giants Roma and Juventus will chase £6m Manchester City star in January..... Portsmouth, Newcastle, Tottenham and Sunderland are also interested

The future of Man City's captain Richard Dunne looks in the balance, due to a mixture of own goals and a glut of clubs hunting his signature. The stalwart centre back made his professional debut for Everton in 1995 at the tender age of 16 and over the years has realised his huge potential with some commanding performances for Man City since Joe Royle signed him in 2000. At 29, this could be his last chance to play in a big European league such as Serie A, meaning it could be a busy January for his agent.

Manchester City skipper Dunne, 29, is also wanted by Portsmouth, Newcastle, Spurs and Sunderland.

Roma – runners-up in Serie A for the past two years – thought they had landed centre-half Dunne last summer.

But the Republic star changed his mind about leaving after a call from new boss Mark Hughes.

Juve coach Claudio Ranieri remembers Dunne from his time at Chelsea.

Dunne has had a frustrating season so far and has been slammed by some City fans after two own goals. (DAILY STAR)

Should Dunne leave the premier league and try his luck at an Italian super club? If he doesn't, will he ever get the chance again? How good is Dunne? Good enough for the infamously defensively minded Italian league? If not, which English club would suit him best?

Bunne is so underestimated. Would not surprise me if a few clubs wouldn't come looking for his services if City get rid of him which I doubt.
