Hot off the press

 Chelsea and Liverpool in crisis

If what they report in the newspapers is to be taken seriously then we should all start feeling pity for the three big clubs. How are you meant to react when you have the captain of Chelsea turning on his fellow team players and accusing them of letting the club down? Terry was furious that their Chelsea home record was in tatters after they lost their unbeaten home record of 86 matches. He questioned the desire of some of the players as he led the dressing-room inquest after losing only their second game of the season.

After a goalless draw at home to West Ham the Liverpool fans booed the players off the pitch. The Liverpool performance was described as another disappointing soulless encounter to rival those other two home draws against Stoke and Fulham. After last night's match the Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez, admitted that confidence was running low amongst some of the players.

Would you believe that we were talking about the two teams at the top of the world’s most prestigious football league? Between them they have only lost 3 games and let in only 14 goals ( 8 by Liverpool and 6 by Chelsea). They are five points ahead of the team in third place.

Collectively to all Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion, Blackburn, Spurs and Newcastle fans: Do you have any words of comfort to these two clubs who appear to be facing a crisis?
