Hot off the press

Manchester City and Chelsea to fight it out over top European striker.....is this the future of football?

Spanish club Valencia are apparently close to going bust and as a result are soon to be forced to sell Spanish international striker David Villa. Man City are ready to take advantage with a substantial bid for the 26 year old, but it's common knowledge that Chelsea have been interested for some time.

Valencia turned down Chelsea's £40million offer six months ago as they believed they would push on and deliver the success a player such as Villa demands. However it seems as though that was a bad decision by the Spaniards and Villa will go for a considerably less.

Is this the future of European football with Man City and Chelsea bidding over Europes finest? With the recent statements coming out of Stamford bridge, can Chelsea actually compete with the spending power of City? How soon will we see a Chelsea v Man City Champions League final?

"The striker's potless Valencia club are close to going bust - and City are ready to take advantage with a 'substantial' bid for the 26-year-old.......

.......But he would now go for far less than the £40million Chelsea were prepared to pay six months ago."

The source is a national newspaper

NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF MONEY CITY HAVE, THEY CANT MATCH CHELSEA'S RECORD IN RECENT TIMES.ONE TIN IS TO SPEND, ANOTHER IS TO GET ACHIEVEMENT. CHELSEA FC IS AN ACHIEVER!

Check it out for yourself Daniel, but yeah Valencia are desperate enough to sell Villa - they tried to secure a 100mil Euro bank loan and were turned down - they may be force to sell and at the minute only Man City can afford to buy - cash upfront too, which will appeal to Valencia!

Now tihs is crap. Chelsea never bid 40 mill for Villa. And Valencia are certainely not desperate enought o sell Villa. Please verify your facts before publishing it.
