Hot off the press

How certain is Drogba's future at Chelsea?

According to Drogba's agent Thierno Seydi, the Chelsea striker did not meet with Inter Milan officials to discuss a future move away from Stamford Bridge. However, according to a number of other papers, Chelsea is more than likely lining up a bid for a striker come January. A number of players have been linked to Chelsea, including Wigans Zaki, David Villa and Lyon's Benzema. Chelsea's lack of depth was highlighted over the weekend when Stoch replaced Deco in the second half against Arsenal.

Their lack of attacking options has been compounded with the absense of Drogba, but with the player remaining quiet on his future, a move to Inter could be on the cards at a latter date. Drogba has recently come out, stating that this season has been one of his worst, and through injury and suspension he is yet to score a premier league goal.

Anelka has looked deadly recently, but his goals mostly come from within the 6 yard box, and his presence doesn't come close to that of Drogba.

However, Abramovich has been badly affected by the current economic climate, and his spending power will not be tested in January. Instead it looks as though Chelsea will have to sell before they can buy, and fringe players such as Alex, Kalou and Bridge may well be used to extract funds.

Who do Chelsea fans want to see at the Bridge in the New Year? Should Drogba leave? Who will possibly go?
