Hot off the press

Do Chelsea Players have the Fight for the Title Race against Manchester United and Liverpool?

Rumours are surfacing from inside the Chelsea camp that the players are unhappy with Phil Scolari and feel his passing style is limiting their chances to win games. Frank Lampard has gone public with his concern saying that they need to mix it up to prevent them from becoming predictable. Scolari has said he does not believe he has the players to play direct football and that in any case, he prefers his team to pass the ball to create openings.

With the pressure on, senior players like Frank Lampard and John Terry have called players meetings to question the motivation of players and if they still have that same desire to win the title that they did when Mourinho was manager.

Is this anymore than paper talk? Rumours do not usually make themselves up so there has to be something going on inside the club. Scolari has made no secret of the fact that he feels he needs more players. Unfortunately for him, the credit crunch and wasteful spending by previous mangers has limited what funds are available for him. Do the current crop of players therefore still have the desire to win? Do Chelsea fans have faith in their squad and boss to reclaim top spot from Liverpool?
