Hot off the press

Can West Ham keep Premier League alive and beat Manchester United?

Just 14 matches to play for most and Manchester United , with a game in hand, are 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Liverpool and 5 points clear of the only other possible title chaser’s Chelsea. Unfortunately for Man U it does not suite most quarters if they extend their lead at the top of the table and therefore all but kill the excitement of a close run finish. So every game that Man U now play they have to realise that most people are secretly hoping that they get beaten.

When you look at Sir Alex Ferguson, the most successful manager in British football history and his Man U team you would be hard pressed to bet against them. Still involved in all four competitions ( Premier League, Carling Cup, FA Cup and European Cup) their main problems will be fixture congestion and injuries to their squad. You also have to consider that United have played in the Community Shield and the FIFA World Cup, which means that they will have played more games then any other club.

This week’s Premier League challenger will be West Ham. Coming into the game with a run of 8 undefeated matches Zola has his team firing on all cylinders. The addition of the two new International players, Savio and Radoslav Kovac will give the in-form Hammers a tremendous boost. Hopefully the younger hard working passionate players like Jack Collison, Marek Stech, James Tomkins, Junior Stanislas and Freddie Sears will be able to feed off them and continue to push the Hammers up the table.

Will anyone put a bet on west ham beating Man U or are we going to see the favourites notch up another 3 points as they go for another league title?
