Currently plying his trade in sunny Valencia, former Everton loanee Manuel Fernandes has admitted he would love to return to the Premier League, and Portsmouth look set to offer the £6m required for Los Ché to release him this summer and see him go back to Fratton Park.

In his first spell at the club the fans were unable to see the best of him due to a strange clause in his loan contract which stipulated that after playing so many games in a row, Portsmouth would have to pay an obscene amount of money. At Everton, he became a fans favourite which his trickery in the middle of the park and passing vision. He failed to reach the same heights in his second spell but his talent is undoubted. His mental approach on the other hand...

Pompey had a £6million bid for Fernandes, 23, rejected during the transfer window, but Valencia could be forced to sell the Portuguese international to ease their financial problems.

Now don't get me wrong, everyone loves a good transfer rumour, but does this have any truth in it? For a kick off Portsmouth are believed to be in dire financial straits. Secondly, who the hell has sanctioned a move? The manager? Oh hang on a minute, they don't have one.
