Since his arrival from Barcelona in the Summer, Deco has been a rather ineffectual player. His first few games some awe inspiring performances, including two great goals, the first a thrity yard strike on his debut, and the second a wicked free kick. Since then his form fell, and the fans started to few him as a liability.

His current injury is not the end of the world for a squad newly invigorated by the arrival of Hiddink. Atletico Madrid are thought to be placing a £5m bid for the player in the summer, and as a Chelsea fan, i hope this is the case. Hiddink has already expressed his desire to rid the club of its ageing stars, and bring in younger talent such as Di Santo and Mancienne.
