Carlos Tevez Weighs Up Options – Could he Really Make the Move Across Manchester from United to City?

Ever since Manchester City were bought at the start of last season, they have been a force in the transfer market that hid their lowly status on the league – and the money could be about to do it again for them as Carlos Tevez is on the brink of dumping current World Champions Manchester United to move to Eastlands.

Not even the most ardent Manchester City fan will pretend that any of the players they have signed since the takeover have been persuaded by anything other than the money – Robinho was unlikely to be persuaded to leave Real Madrid for Manchester City unless there were a lot of zeroes on the end of his contract offer for example and Tevez will be no different. Yes he can of course that with more signings Manchester City could potentially challenge Arsenal for 4th or even break into the ‘Big Three’ at the top, but this will certainly not be for another year at least.

Tevez may not be happy with how Manchester United have treated him but he waited until the end of the season, when a new deal would be either coming up or not, before showing his petulance in the games for the whole world to see. His scoring record at Manchester United certainly does not suggest he is a £30 million player. Tevez does not have the strength to play upfront on his own in the middle like fellow United player Dimitar Berbatov and simply is not as good as Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo.

He may well move to City to pick up a pay cheque – and it could be the he just is not good enough for United to make an offer at the level required to secure him on a permanent contract.
