Hot off the press

Arsenal Ready to Make Move for Fiorentina’s Melo – Could Emmanuel Eboue be Heading the Other Way?

Arsene Wenger is known for having a more unique transfer policy but it looks like he might be about to suspend that to make a big money move for Fiorentina’s Felipe Melo.

Melo currently plays for Fiorentina in Italy and the Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has revealed that Arsenal have come close to a fee the club would find acceptable.

Melo signed a one year extension to his contract only last week but sources at Arsenal feel they can still land their man – if they are willing to payout a sizeable transfer fee. One way to offset the amount would be to include wantaway right back, Emmanuel Eboue. Fiorentina have specifically mentioned the player as someone they would consider in part exchange and Eboue is known to be unhappy with a lack of first team opportunities at the Emirates.

This deal looks more a case of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’.

When has Arsene ever forked out the asking price for any play? I think your right though, Sagna cant do it all himself, thats why he should cash in on Ade and get Flamini back and spend some of the 20 million or so on a right back! Simple! So we get Melo and Flamini to strengthen the midfield, we got enough in the tank regards decent strikers (although David Villa would be nice) so all he'd have to add would be a good right back.

Oh please, for the love of god, let this happen!

I don`t prefer that deal we really need Eboue in this squad this season pls Sagna alone cannot play the whole season and Given is physically fit but mentally not matured and Eboue is the player for the role if Wenger can pay cash for the player that will be very good.
